Redwood Resin Table

One of the most stunning round tables I've made!  

At over 34" in diameter and 2 1/4" thick, it's a substantial, eye-catching piece designed as a coffee or statement side table.

The tabletop features beautifully figured with burled redwood. The wood has a deep, reddish-brown hue with dramatic variations in texture, including tight curls, waves, and organic contours that give it a luxurious, almost three-dimensional look under the finish.  I moved the table outside and still struggled to get a picture showing depth of the wood. 

With so many pockets in the wood on both sides I decided to lean into the inevitable bubbles that would happen and create more of a water look adding a hint of blue and green that still appears clear and I am so happy I did.  

To match the waves and curls of the wood, and bubbles, I contoured the top to look like water and the final product looks like a rugged coastline.

The table is complimented with a 16" high curved metal base powder coated in black that has been recessed into the top and features adjustable feet to accommodate imperfect floors.

I finished the top and bottom with multiple coats of hard-wax oil.  Then added extra coats of the N3Nano hard and top coats to protect the wood.
